From the Rector
Guide my feet Thank you for your photos inspired by our Lent Theme: Guide My Feet. Noreen and I are enjoying getting them and making a choice each week as to which will go on the cover. Please keep sending them and look out for yours in a future week. We have so many now that not all of them will get on a cover, but we are working on a plan to create a gallery page in a future issue of Journey so that you can see all of the photos we have seen. As I go for a walk in the early morning around Bair Island I am often carrying burdens of the busy day ahead in my shoulders. I am occupied with the many things I have to do, but then invariably, as I make my way around the trail something will happen that will catch my attention. Just the other day a duck took off from the wetlands, it's wings slapping on the surface of the water as it started to climb. The sound got my attention and stopped me thinking about the items on my to do list and made me focus on the world around me. I can get stuck inside my head and need to be reminded to be fully present in my whole body, breathing deeply and noticing creation around me. As I do this I find my center again and the items on the to do list start to look differently. As I walk, I find God guiding me and helping me to see what needs to be done in the day ahead. It happens best when I am breathing deeply, walking with my head up, and noticing the beauty of the dawn.
