Meal Packing Event:
In past years we have made enough meals to feed 50,000 people. In 2020, we were able to host a meal packing event just before the COVID lockdown. In 2021 we hosted a meal packing event at a smaller scale while recovering from COVID with a goal of feeding 10,000. In 2022 we hosted another small one feeding 10,000.
I am proud to say that my business, Dream Dinners in Belmont, is partnering with Hillsdale High School to feed 10,000 people. We’ve done this event three times now and we could not have done it without so much support from Transfiguration! Ask around and you will find someone in our community who can tell you what a great event this is.
Objective: Purchase, assemble, pack and distribute nutritious meals to children and adults, near and far, whose futures are endangered by hunger
WHAT IS DREAM DINNERS? At Dream Dinners we believe the healthiest meal is the one eaten around the table with loved ones. We know it is tough for families to find the time to choose recipes, make grocery lists, shop, chop and all the rest. Instead come to us for about an hour and half a month and leave prepared with everything you need for your meals for the next month. Supporting meal packing events is an extension of our mission. WHAT IS A FOOD PACKAGE? One quart-sized package provides the dry ingredients for 6 nutritionally complete meals, with each meal costing only 35 cents. The meal works to help reverse the effects of malnutrition and starvation. Volunteers assemble the packages at “food packaging events”.
WHO WILL RECEIVE THE FOOD PACKAGES? One third of the meals will stay in the local area, and the remaining two-thirds will be sent to food insecure countries.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
DONATE - Help us reach our goal. Just 35 cents can provide one meal for a child. Our total fundraising goal is $15,000!
VOLUNTEER – There will be more information coming about how to sign up to volunteer. We will need folks for set up and take down plus a lot of meal packers during the main event from from 10 am to noon. In the meantime, let me know if you are interested in taking on a leadership role (just means one meeting before the event and being there all morning on the day of) – [email protected].
