What are we like?
- Episcopal - We are in the Diocese of California, part of The Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion. Our identity is shaped by the wonderful traditions of the Church of England as received in the USA.
- Progressive - Our theological perspectives are progressive. We are committed to a close and thoughtful reading of the Bible, but we hope to apply it to our contemporary lives with humor and open-mindedness.
- Inclusive - All are welcome to both participate and lead at Transfiguration, whatever your gender identity, gender expression, race, national, or ethnic background, or sexual orientation. Transfiguration is an LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming congregation that is committed to racial justice.
- Active - We work for peace and justice in our congregation, our community, and in our world. Together we can make the world a more just place for all.

Welcome to our table and our conversation!
Transfiguration is an Episcopal Church and our primary act of worship is a meal to which you are most heartily welcomed. At this "Eucharist" we remember Jesus' last supper with his friends. He ate this meal on the night before he died and it reminds us both that there is great injustice in the world, but also that loving acts of sacrifice can make our world a better place for all to live in. Our church invites you to join us at the table. When we come to communion everyone is invited to approach the front and receive the bread and wine or a blessing, whichever you feel more comfortable with.
When you get together with friends over a meal you often talk about life and what it means. We are a church that loves a good conversation! I personally believe you should not join a church because they believe everything you do - you should join a church because they are having an interesting conversation. We invite you into our conversation - you might find a wider range of views than you would expect. Everyone is welcome; we only ask that you are willing to participate in the conversation in a way that is respectful towards others.
Come visit us on a Sunday morning, join the meal, and join the conversation!
