The Mission of Transfiguration’s Early Learning Center
A world of wonder and play
Educational philosophy
At Transfiguration we foster a child’s sense of wonder and instill a love of learning to create a strong foundation for educational success.
Our Early Learning Center offers a developmentally-appropriate, project-based, emergent curriculum for children ages two through pre-kindergarten. Transfiguration children learn in a progressive and inclusive environment. The educational program provides children with a balance of structured and open-ended activities through one-on-one, small group, and large group interactions. We nurture each child’s individual strengths and foster learning and development across domains:
Cultivating spiritual inquiry
We are an Episcopal Community, and as such we encourage children to explore their own beliefs while honoring and valuing the diversity in our community. In our weekly chapel time, we invite children to wonder about the beauty of the world and consider their place in it. We welcome families from all faith backgrounds.
Building the future on a strong foundation
Transfiguration Nursery School is now the Transfiguration Early Learning Center and is due to open in January 2021. Transfiguration Episcopal Church has overseen its preschool for over 60 years, and has had a vibrant, caring community of teachers, families and children throughout its history. Our Early Learning Center reflects our values as a progressive, service oriented, thoughtful and inclusive community.
