Liturgical Ministries

The following groups make our liturgies possible. For more information on these groups, please contact our Liturgy Board Chair.

Choir - Sing anthems, hymns, and liturgical music at the 10:30 a.m. service with special music for Festival Days. Rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Acolytes - Serve at the 10:30 service by leading with the cross and candles at the beginning of the service and at the Gospel reading, help prepare communion, and perform other tasks during the service.

Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM) - Lay members of the congregation (members who are not ordained as priests) who administer the chalice at communion, read the Prayers of the People. Some lay members are called and trained for the additional special ministry of carrying the consecrated bread and wine to homebound parishioners.

Lay Reader - Lay members who read the Old and New Testament readings at the services.

Altar Guild - Group that prepares the Church for worship one Saturday per month, which includes caring for and setting out the altar linens, vestments, vessels, and silver and brass; and cleaning and storing the items after the Sunday services.

Flower Guild - Group that arranges floral decorations for the Church.

Ushers - Meet and greet parishioners as we arrive at the services. Pass the offertory plate, carry the communion elements to the altar, and help manage the people traffic during the services.
