The Transfig Kids officially kicked things into gear in 2007 by shooting up the wall at Planet Granite, sponsoring a trip to see Emma and Maggie Phillips perform in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and quickly moved on to building gingerbread houses (for display at Coyote Point). In 2008 we've gone bowling and to Malibu for some minature golf (see below). Picture of Tranfig kids + youth group playing minature golf at Malibu Castle. This picture was taken before most of the kids took the opportunity to get soaking wet on the bumper boats outfitted with water cannons. WhoTransfig Kids are the members of our parish family in grades 4-7 who use these outings to build friendships in the positive environment that is our church. As the year goes on, the kids themselves will take on an active role in the direction of the group. What's next?In early June, we'll participate in the National Bake Sale by spending time together baking in Transfiguration's kitchen with the magnificent view of the bay and possibly watching a movie. Check back here for the final dates (right now, we're looking at a Saturday evening). After we bake, the members of Transfiguration will have the opportunity to take them off our hands. One Sunday this summer we'll gather to clean up a local park. This fall we'll kick off the fall with a Saturday afternoon of kickball and a barbeque -- check back here for dates. We're working on other activities, too... check back here for updates. QuestionsIf you have any questions about this group, please contact Mike Robinson or Chad Smith. |
